Fourth Sunday in Ordinary Time

"The kingdom of heaven is like ..." How would you complete this sentence? The Lord completed it through the use of parables. Today he likens the kingom to a treasure. We might be tempted to describe heaven as some faraway place when in fact we are given glimpses and tastes of that kingdom right here on earth. Where do we find the kingdom of heaven on earth? We glimpse it when we reach out in servuice to others. We taste it when we eat of the body and blood of Christ. We embrace it when we show love and care to our spouses, family, friends, and espercially those most in need. Let us be mindful of the various manifestations of the kingdom of heaven right here in this holy place.

Since opening its doors in 1994, the Cross Timbers Pregnancy Care Center has served over 2300 women who thought they might be pregnant. The center helps these women by providing a free pregnancy test; education on the development of the baby in the womb; education on abortion procedures and the risks involved; peer counseling in the options of adoption and parenting; emotional support and help throught the crisis; the Earn While You Learn Parenting Program; referrals for other agencies; assistance with clothing, diapers, and other needs; and a Post Abortion Bible Study for those who have already endured the pain of an abortion. We could not continue without the support of our local churches and community. Please pray about the role God wants you to play in this battle for life. Get involved by volunteering, donating financially, and praying for the Cross Timbers Pregnancy Care Center.

to the house of the God of Jacob,
that he may instruct us in his ways,
and we may walk in his paths." Isaiah 2:3
